2/20 – Jeff Vorick’s “Warm & Pleasant” Lundi Gras Afternoon Forecast

The warmth is here, and Lundi Gras and Mardi Gras look to have stellar conditions! Clouds are on the increase through the rest of this afternoon with high temperatures in the mid-70s across a lot of the area. Elevated winds this afternoon will back off slightly this evening.

There is some potential for patchy fog to develop in some spots if the winds lighten enough. A very low deck of clouds is on the table at minimum. Temperatures will continue to warm through much of this week. A strengthening area of high pressure will keep a warm, humid flow in South Mississippi through the week.

The high pressure will serve as a blocking mechanism and keep the storm track to our north. A system moving out of the Southwest will track to its northeast during the latter portion of this week. The system won’t be overly strong and it will track too far away to provide for any significant impacts. There are low-end rain chances from Thursday through Saturday.
