2/11 – Quiet through Friday with storms possible this weekend

Meteorologist Sam Lucey has a look at your forecast

Aside from a brief, slight chance of showers early tonight and some patchy fog overnight, conditions remain mild and calm. Highs reach the low 70s Thursday and Friday with a mix of sun and clouds, making for comfortable afternoons and seasonable evenings in the low to mid 50s.

Rain chances increase heading into the weekend, though. Showers become more likely on Saturday afternoon, with rain becoming more widespread Saturday night, and thunderstorms possible after midnight. Sunday looks to stay unsettled, with showers and a few storms likely before gradually improving later in the day. Some areas around south Mississippi could pick up a healthy dose of rainfall before skies begin to clear Sunday night.

Sunshine quickly returns for Presidents’ Day and continues into early next week. Highs hold near 70 through Mardi Gras and Ash Wednesday, bringing a stretch of dry, mild weather after a slightly soggy weekend.
