16-year-old Vancleave girl pleads guilty to second-degree murder

A 16-year-old Vancleave girl pleaded guilty today to second-degree murder in the shooting of an Ocean Springs teenager.

Bridgett Forehand, 14 at the time, shot and killed 19-year-old Mickell Gordon the morning of March 10th, 2021.

She was charged as an adult in the crime.

Forehand said she was drinking alcohol that night and did not remember shooting Gordon, but still plead guilty and took responsibility for her actions.

She was sentenced to 40 years in prison, but suspended to 25 years. She’ll serve 15 years day for day plus 25 years under post-release supervision.
