A Lot on Tap for Ocean Springs Cruisin’

There are some classic beauties, hot rods and other vintage and antique cars on display throughout Ocean Springs. More than 100,000 people are expected to roll into the city over the next three days as Ocean Springs revs up its Cruisin’ the Coast activities, displays and entertainment.

On Thursday, the streets were already crowded with people and cars by the lunch time hour, and parking places near the main event were hard to find. Ocean Springs plans to go full throttle for the next few days of Cruisin’ the Coast. The city has expanded its parking bays and areas this year already to accommodate the record number of people expected to attend this year’s Cruisin’ events in Ocean Springs.

On Friday night, Ocean Springs will kick off its “Sock Hop and Street Party” at 5 p.m. where young and old alike will be decked out to the nines in oldies attire. Later that night the Molly Ringwalds, an 80s band, will provide entertainment, along with the Big Easy Boys and Eugene Eash, an Elvis tribute entertainer.

Traffic in the venue area will be shut down 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday night. On Friday, that area will be closed off to traffic from 7 a.m. to midnight, and on Saturday, it will be closed from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
