12th annual Mississippi Gulf Coast Senior Prom

The 12th annual Mississippi Gulf Coast senior prom allowed participants to take a stroll down memory lane to create new memories at the IP Casino.

Gulf Coast residents 50 years and older came together to eat great food, take pictures, and hit the dance floor. Over 700 seniors attended this event.

The purpose of this event is to give residents a chance to get out of the house and re-live a beautiful chapter in their lives.

This year’s prom was extra special. The ‘I Love Lucy’ theme honors Lucy Bickham, one of the founders of the Senior Prom who recently passed away. Senior Prom board member Mag Holland said, “We just wanted to honor her. Her main goal was to keep seniors active. If you are here at the end of the night and you see how active these seniors are and we are exhausted and we are rubbing our feet, they are out on the dance floor. It’s packed and they are still going. It’s awesome.”

You can’t have prom without crowning a king and queen! Names were pulled randomly as two senior citizens took a royal strut across the ballroom.
