12/08 Ryan’s “Cold” Thursday Night Forecast

If you’ve been paying attention to the forecast over the past week, this cold air moving in should be no surprise but that doesn’t make it any more enjoyable. Tonight’s expected low has warmed by a few degrees, but we’re still in line to see temperatures near 35 in Gulfport. Inland areas will be colder, some getting into the upper and mid 20s. Outdoor pets should not be left outside, but if that is not possible please make sure they have extra food, water, and bedding. If you have any friends/family in the area without central heating, make sure they have everything they need since prolonged exposure to these temperatures can be dangerous, especially in areas further North who may have seen some light rain today. Tomorrow afternoon will be sunny and cool, high near 50, but we’ll see another frigid night with freezing temperatures finally reaching the coast. The winter-like temperatures don’t last forever though, as Southerly winds bring warm/moist air to the coast buy the beginning of next week, rebounding temperatures into the mid and upper 60s.
