12-Year-old Student Accused of Bomb Threat

A 12-year-old student has been removed from East Central Middle School after allegedly writing a note saying a bomb was inside the school.
The school was evacuated back on October 5th when a note was found in the bathroom. Jackson County sheriff’s deputies then checked the buildings for any suspicious activity.
Evidence was found linking the suspect to the bomb scare. Jackson County Youth Court is now handling the case.
The county school board is set to decide during their meeting next Monday whether further disciplinary action against the student is needed.
