12/26 – Warm and Foggy Tonight with Changes Coming Early Next Week

Meteorologist Sam Lucey has a look at your forecast

Patchy dense fog will develop late tonight and linger into early Saturday, so plan for reduced visibility if you are headed out around daybreak on Saturday. Clouds gradually thin throughout the day, allowing temperatures to climb into the mid 70s, with more fog possible again late Saturday night.

Sunday stays mostly sunny and mild in the low 70s before rain chances increase late Sunday night. We’ll have a stronger cold front bringing a few showers and possibly a rumble of thunder through the area by Monday morning.

Behind that system, much colder air rushes in Monday night with gusty north winds and temperatures dropping below freezing by Tuesday morning.

Expect a chilly stretch through midweek, with sunny days but widespread frost (instead of fog) and overnight lows in the upper 20s to 30s. Although we’ll see slightly warmer temperatures by New Year’s Eve, it’s still going to be in the low to mid 30s overnight with New Year’s Day temperatures topping out near 60.

Clouds increase Thursday night, and a slight chance of showers returns by Friday evening.
