12/26 – Brantly’s “Unsettled Weather” Thursday Evening Forecast
Temperatures will continue to be mild through the next 24 hours running about 10 to 18 degrees above seasonal norms. Lows tonight will range from the mid 50s for most inland areas and the upper 50s along the immediate coast. Highs Friday will range from the upper 60s to lower 70s for most inland areas and the mid to upper 60s along the immediate coast.
A southwesterly wind pattern will persist across the north central Gulf Coast region late Friday night through Sunday in advance of a deep low pressure system that will be gradually progressing eastward across the Rocky Mountains and Plains states. High pressure extending from the Ohio Valley and Mid-Atlantic region and adjacent Eastern Seaboard Friday night and Saturday will gradually shift eastward as a surface low pressure system deepens and lifts across the southern/central Plains Saturday to the Upper Midwest and Great Lakes region Sunday into Sunday night.
The overall severe weather threat with this system remains very limited, though just enough instability will remain available for us to keep a close watch on radar for localized strong winds as the line of showers moves across the region on Sunday. Showers should end from west to east Sunday evening following frontal passage, with cooler and drier conditions returning for Sunday night.
