12/25 Ryan’s “Christmas Night” Tuesday Forecast

I hope everyone enjoyed Christmas on the Mississippi Gulf Coast! The weather couldn’t have cooperated more, outside of maybe being just a little cooler to get the full “effect.”

SADLY THOUGH, OUR WINDOW OF PLEASANT HOLIDAY WEATHER IS CLOSING AND ACTIVE, POTENTIALLY SEVERE WEATHER IS MOVING IN SOON.

Expect tonight to be cool and humid with increasing cloud cover and a low near 53. Tomorrow will be even warmer and more humid, high near 67, and a low chance of rain moves in as we finish off the day and head into the overnight hours. This rain chance becomes much more significant by Thursday, rising to around 80% as a developing occluded front crawls into the area.

THIS FRONT WILL BRING STRONG STORMS INTO SOUTH MS BY THURSDAY AFTERNOON, AND DUE TO IT’S SLOW SPEED, THESE SHOWERS WILL LAST INTO THE BEGINNING OF NEXT WEEK.

Between three and five inches of rain are expected over the next 7 days, which will likely be enough to cause some localized flooding issues, and potentially even river flooding. The chance of rain does begin to dwindle by Monday, but even then it looks like we’ll be ringing in the new year with at least some scattered showers.
