12/16 – Brittany’s “Cold End To The Workweek” Friday Evening Forecast

As we get into tonight, we`ll start seeing some higher clouds, as some of the moisture at high levels noted across Arizona starts to reach the area. A shortwave rotating around the Wisconsin upper low will move across the area Saturday and Saturday night. Moisture levels are a little more robust in the NAM and ECMWF guidance than they are in the GFS. Can`t totally rule out some light rain showers, primarily during the daytime hours on Saturday with amounts being rather light, less than 0.25 inch, although it could arrive in western sections near sunrise Saturday. Likely to be one of those situations where the areal coverage looks a lot greater on radar when compared to ground truth regarding measurable precipitation. Skies should clear out again late Saturday night as cold air gets reinforced behind the departing shortwave.
