11/7 – Warm Weekend, Colder Next Week
Meteorologist Sam Lucey has a look at your extended forecast
Patchy dense fog will develop late tonight and linger into early Saturday morning before skies turn mostly sunny and temperatures warm to near 80. A few light showers are possible late Saturday night as a strong cold front pushes through, bringing cooler air and breezy north winds.
Highs will top out in the low 70s on Sunday before dropping sharply through the overnight hours, with lows falling to the mid and upper 30s inland to low 40s at the coast. Monday will be much cooler, even with abundant sunshine, thanks to the brisk north wind making highs in the mid 50s feel like the mid 40s.
Winds will calm by Monday evening, leading to a very cold start for your Veterans Day. While the immediate coast will likely stay just above freezing, most inland areas will be at or below freezing for potentially a few hours come Tuesday morning. Not a bad idea to leave faucets dripping overnight, and plan to bring any sensitive plants or vegetation out of the cold. As always, please check on elderly neighbors, and if you are using space heaters, keep them at least 3 feet away from any objects and do not leave them unattended.
Temperatures will gradually warm again by midweek, reaching the low to mid 70s by Thursday and Friday, with dry conditions expected.
