11/27 – Trey’s “Extra Blankets Needed” Monday Night Forecast

Meteorologist Trey Tonnessen

High pressure continues to build into the area tonight and winds will relax. With low dewpoints and light to calm winds, the big question with overnight lows will be clouds. Southwest flow aloft will bring some high clouds through the area tonight. The clouds should be a thin layer, but may still be enough to limit what would normally be a good set up for radiational cooling. With that setup, the situation across the viewing area tonight should remain very close to what I initially anticipated through the afternoon. In the original thinking, denser, cold air, should still be able to move into the area. That is, assuming the winds lighten as forecasted. Though we aren’t expecting any freezing temperatures tonight, a few places are forecast to bottom out right around 33 or 34 degrees. IF the clouds don`t arrive as forecasted, An hour or two of freezing temperatures in some localized places can’t totally be ruled out.

As always: A cloudy day is no match for a sunny disposition. Be nice to each other.
