10th annual Mississippi Gulf Coast Marathon Launch Week
HARRISON COUNTY, Miss. (WXXV)-Runners are gearing up to go the extra mile. It’s launch week for the 10th annual Mississippi Gulf Coast Marathon.
Registration is open now until next Monday, March 24th. Runners who sign up during launch week will receive a free ‘in-training’ shirt and the best deal on registration fees for the December marathon.
The weekend long event includes a distance for runners of all ages and abilities, starting with the Margaritaville 5K and a one-mile Chevron Mississippi Gulf Coast Kids Marathon on December 13th. The half and full marathon will be on December 14th.
Marketing Director Mike Wattigny says he is expecting quite the turn out. “Anytime you have a big anniversary race you see that your numbers swell and you get bigger registration numbers. On top of that, being that the industry is seeing more and more sellouts like we did last year, I anticipate seeing that, getting to that 5,000-camp number. I think it’s a very achievable.”
