10-year-old Latimer girl helping others fight scoliosis and other rare diseases
LATIMER, Miss. (WXXV) — One 10-year-old girl from Latimer is making a difference in her life and the lives of others by raising money to fight pediatric scoliosis and other rare diseases.
Mia Van Sittert suffers from Spondyloepiphyseal Dysplasia Congenita, a rare genetic disorder that affects bones and, in her case, has caused scoliois… but she’s not letting it stop her!
She’s also the owner of Bakin’ My Way, a small business that sells baked goods, bracelets and keychains; the money raised so far helps her give back to other Coast children with scoliosis and will also allow her to attend an upcoming pediatric scoliosis conference.
WXXV News 25’s Elizabeth Keen sat down with Mia to learn more in this exclusive story.
