At least 10 people were killed, and more than 30 others were injured today when a man drove a pickup truck into a large crowd of people in New Orleans overnight. The FBI has now taken control of the investigation.

City officials say this was an intentional act by the driver, who drove around a barricade in order to access Bourbon Street.

The suspect apparently opened fire on officers after his truck came to a stop.

Two officers were hit by that gunfire, luckily, they are in stable condition.

NBC News has learned that the suspect in this incident has been killed, according to a federal official.

Police are also investigating possible I-E-Ds at the scene.

Bourbon Street has been closed off to the public for the day.
