10/9 – Feeling More Like Fall By The Weekend
Meteorologist Sam Lucey has a look at your forecast
Clear skies and comfortable temperatures will make for a beautiful stretch of weather across South Mississippi through the next week.
Tonight will be mostly clear and mild, with lows dipping to the low and mid 60s. Friday brings more sunshine and a much “closer to average” high near 81.
The weekend continues the trend — expect sunny skies Saturday and Sunday with highs in the low 80s and cool, crisp nights in the upper 50s and low 60s. Winds will remain light, gradually shifting from northeast to south as we head into Sunday afternoon.
Monday looks nice, with sunshine and highs near the mid 80s.
The latest U.S. Drought Monitor shows no change from last week, with moderate to severe drought conditions still in place across south Mississippi. While 1 to 2+ inches of rain fell earlier this week, it wasn’t enough to make a dent in the ongoing dryness.
The warm, dry pattern continues through next week, with highs climbing into the upper 80s by Tuesday and Wednesday.
