1/2 – Trey’s “Rain and Wind Overnight” Tuesday Night Forecast

Meteorologist Trey Tonnessen

A strong upper-level trough is moving across Texas this evening, with high level moisture moving into the area very noticeably on satellite imagery. There were a few lightning strikes noted over Texas tonight from elevated convection. It is going to take a while to moisten up enough to produce any significant rainfall, with precipitable water values eventually approaching an inch after midnight. That will be a much closer to our daily average. While surrounding radars do show some activity south of Interstate 10, not much has been hitting the ground yet tonight. As clouds and moisture are moving into the area, it is definitely possible that overnight lows have already occurred in some areas. If they haven`t, most areas are not very far from that point.

As always: A cloudy day is no match for a sunny disposition. Be nice to each other.
