08/25 – Brantly’s “Scattered Storms” Wednesday Morning Forecast

Showers and storms are forecast to start popping up around the local area by late morning into the early afternoon with daytime heating driving their development. The latest models are showing these storms today not moving a lot once developing, so a few thunderstorms could produce rain rates of 2-4″ per hour and this could cause some very localized flooding of poor drainage areas. The increased moisture content combined with slow moving convection may create some nuisance flooding where storms train over the same areas. Increased cloud cover and rain chances will likely keep high temps in the upper 80s and low 90s in most areas.

A disturbance moving in from the east will also help things get a kick start even earlier Thursday but this same scenario looks to be on for Friday as well. High temperatures Friday are expected to top out around 90 inland, upper 80s along the coast. Low temperatures Friday night will see an uptick as a moister airmass moves over the forecast area, with low temperatures in the low 70s inland, mid to upper 70s along the coast.
