06/22 – Brantly’s “More Wet Weather” Tuesday Forecast
Wet weather will continue linger along the Gulf Coast, keeping scattered to numerous showers and thunderstorms in the forecast for the local area today through at least Wednesday. Coverage is expected to decrease somewhat tonight, but showers and storms will ramp back up through the day on Wednesday. However, we are not expecting as much coverage compared to today and earlier this week.
A Flash Flood Watch is in effect for the southern 6 counties of Mississippi, as well as surrounding areas in Louisiana and Alabama until at least 7 PM. The National Weather Service says, “High rainfall rates from more widespread storms expected later today may lead to flash flooding, especially in areas where soils are saturated from recent heavy rain. Make sure you have a reliable source to receive warnings should they become required later today.”
High today are expected to be in the lower to mid 80s, with lows generally in the upper 60s to around 70 degrees inland. Near the coast, lows will be in the lower to mid 70s. Expect slightly warmer temperatures Wednesday afternoon, with highs in the mid to upper 80s.
