Singing River Health System Kickball Tournament
After Singing River Health System’s annual Kickball Tournament was canceled last year due to COVID and was rained out during Hospital Week, SRHS staff was finally able to hit the field again.
Singing River employees from different departments throughout the health system formed teams for the tournament.
Some of the team’s included ‘Eddie and the Heartbreakers’ from the cardiac department, ‘New Kicks on the Block’ out of the Human Resources department, and ‘Team Broken and Strokin’” from the orthopedics and neuro departments.
Director of Primary Care Services Jason Ely says after a year of working through the pandemic, it feels great to get some fresh air and have some competitive fun with his co-workers. “Nobody likes to lose you know and I don’t care anybody who says it’s all about fun, it’s all about winning. These guys wanna come out here and win. You see they’ve got colored t-shirts to match their teams and just the fact that we were not able to do this last year, to be able to come out here and do it this year, it makes a huge difference. So, I think it’s exciting. The trash talk makes it even better. It’s just fun.”
