Moss Point man arrested on felony charge of leaving the scene of an accident causing death

December 09, 2022, at approximately 6:30PM, Officers were dispatched to the area of Peters and Kathleen Street for a motor vehicle crash in which a pedestrian had been struck. The vehicle involved left the scene prior to officer’s arrival.

The pedestrian was identified as 67-year-old David Sanders of Moss Point, MS. Mr. Sanders was pronounced deceased by medical personnel.

Detectives and patrol officers were able to identify the suspect vehicle and its driver using witness accounts and surveillance video.

On December 13, 2022, at approximately 2:30PM, patrol officers located and stopped the suspect vehicle. Angelo Ash of Moss Point was arrested on the felony charge of leaving the scene of an accident-causing injury or death.

Mr. Ash was taken to the Moss Point Police Department and booked. He was later transported to the Jackson County Adult Detention Center.
