Local teams polish skills during Winter Guard Field Day in Biloxi

The winter guard season has arrived on the Coast

The Louisiana-Mississippi Color Guard Circuit was back in action at Biloxi Junior High. It was Biloxi’s first-time ever hosting a Winter Guard competition.

Teams that participated in the field day were able to show off their skills to a live crowd while receiving immediate feedback from the judges.

The field day was also a chance for Biloxi Junior High to show off their facilities and different programs. Biloxi High Color Guard Instructor Tracy Carter said, “I think anytime that we can create positive, meaningful environments through either athletic events or through art events or through the combination of the two sort of in this, I think it just gives our students more options to be themselves and to grow and have a place to belong and a place to enjoy being.”

The Winter Guard regular season begins February 4th at Denham Springs High School in Louisiana.
