Hurricane season begins Tuesday, June 1st

The 2021 Hurricane Season starts on Tuesday and experts say it looks like it may be a busy year.

The season runs through November 30th and covers areas including the Atlantic Ocean, Gulf of Mexico, and the Caribbean Sea.

The Colorado State University Tropical Meteorology Project Team is predicting an above-average season. They’re forecasting 17 named storms, including eight hurricanes.

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s climate prediction center is forecasting 60 percent chance for an above-normal season.
