Charles R. Hegwood Community Market open to the public

The Charles R. Hegwood Community Market is open to the public on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m. beneath the I-110 overpass on Howard Avenue in Biloxi.

Vendors are preparing for the summer as they typically see more and more visitors now that kids are out of school.

The market has been around for almost 50 years and many of their vendors have been selling with them for quite some time.

The market has also lifted the restrictions put in place during the pandemic. For that time some vendors couldn’t sell certain items like baked goods. Delish Sweets Owner Bonny Pesch said, “This is a great time of year for us. Everything out here is fresh. The market is full. I’m thrilled because I went almost a year limited on the types of things I can bring out here so now we’re full strength and it is really great.”

During the pandemic, they also had to reduce the number of vendors they had, but now can accept applicants again. Call 228-388-2443 to begin the application process.
