Laurene Callander was born and raised in the small town of Branchburg, New Jersey. She graduated from Rutgers University and received her BA in Journalism and Media Studies with a minor in Entrepreneurship and earned a Sports Journalism Certificate. Even though she is from New Jersey, you can find her rooting for the Pittsburgh Steelers during football season. Laurene worked at Rutgers Television Network where she hosted the University's live morning show "Wake Up Rutgers". During her senior year she interned at The Dr. Oz Show in the publicity department, and ended her college career with an internship at News 12 New Jersey.
