Hancock County arrests man wanted for aggravated assault, kidnapping

The Hancock County Sheriff’s Office acted on a tip this morning and found a man wanted for aggravated assault domestic violence.
Sheriff Ricky Adam said Nicholas Joseph Shiyou, also known as Josh Shiyou, was taken into custody without incident about 10 a.m.
Adam said a tip came in to the sheriff’s office regarding Shiyou’s whereabouts. His deputies went to the residence and did what’s called a knock and talk, where they found Shiyou inside.
Adam said the aggravated assault and kidnapping charges stemmed from an incident with someone Shiyou was seeing. He also faces a simple assault charge. His bond is pending an initial appearance July 19 in Justice Court.
“We’re just happy he’s in custody,” Adam said.
