Today Governor Reeves received his COVID-19 vaccination.
The Republican governor got the shot on a video streamed to Facebook live.
He said he wanted to take the vaccine publicly to demonstrate his ‘confidence in its safety and efficacy.’ Forty-six-year-old Reeves said he’s heard residents say they won’t get the vaccines until he does.
Wearing a face covering depicting the American flag, Reeves sat in a chair while a nurse administered the shot. He said it will help protect him and his loved ones.
The coronavirus vaccine is available in Mississippi for healthcare workers, long-term care residents, those 65 and older and individuals with health conditions.
