A historic Ocean Springs golf club is welcoming golfers back after being closed for a year.
The Gulf Hills Golf Club reopened yesterday and is now under new ownership. Eddie Byrd and his family have been busy this past year updating technology and making sure the course was ready to go for the opening.
Coming soon to Gulf Hills will be an app allowing golfers to reserve tee times as well as plans for a driving range.
Byrd says it is exciting to reopen the course for the Ocean Springs community. “We’re happy to keep it going for the community, a lot of the community who live here, they moved here because of the golf course, and then just Ocean Springs itself, they’ve always known Gulf Hills Golf Course, so we’re glad to have the opportunity to keep it going and let people have fun out here.”
Also on site and managed by the new ownership is Capone’s Speakeasy Lounge and Restaurant.
