The countdown to Christmas is underway, but that’s not the only countdown happening in Biloxi.
Residents and developers are counting down the days of construction for a variety of projects in the city.
For example, Margaritaville has resumed construction again on the parking garage and amusement park. Also, they are repairing some of the damage caused by Hurricane Zeta.
The Bertucci Park Project was revised to more of a gated community.
The Arbor Landing Apartment Complex on Popp’s Ferry Road next to the neighborhood Walmart is on the planning commission agenda this week for an expansion to add 16 additional buildings.
Things are slowly, but surely coming together in regards to economic growth for Biloxi. Community Development Director Jerry Creel said, “We have commercial and residential going on at the same time. Right now, we’ve got 21 single family subdivisions under construction with 160 houses that are being built in Biloxi. When you see both commercial and residential happening at the same time, that tells you that our economy and our market is very good for Biloxi.”
Residents can also be on the lookout for a new 135 acre subdivision on Shriner’s Boulevard that will have 209 single family homes in the future.
