Mississippi Power on track for restoration to 95% of customers by midnight Monday

The company begins Day 5 of restoration efforts. Approximately 5,000 customers are still without service, with the majority of those outages in Gulfport.

GULFPORT, Miss. (WXXV) — Mississippi Power said Monday morning, “Tremendous progress was made overnight as crews continued to work safely round-the-clock.”

The company begins Day Five as a wrap-up day with approximately 5,000 customers without service with the majority of those outages in Gulfport.

The Mississippi Power Storm Team and the nearly 1,700 additional outside resources are attacking the Zeta restoration.

Mississippi Power is deploying outside line crew resources from 18 states around the country such as North Carolina, South Carolina, Texas, Florida, Tennessee, Missouri, Virginia, Ohio and Arkansas.

Estimated restoration time of power restored to 95% of customers is by midnight on Monday night, Nov. 2.

Gulfport Bill Payment office will open today with normal business hours.

According to Mississippi Power, Lucedale was the hardest hit area from the Hurricane Zeta event.

Three Coastal Mississippi staging sites were mobilized for safe and efficient deployment of storm personnel including, linemen, tree trimmers, engineers, logistics and security.
