Clothes flew off the racks and household items off the shelves this morning in D’Iberville.
Residents lined up outside waiting to snag some great deals as community leaders cut the ribbon on the new and improved Goodwill Store on D’Iberville Boulevard.
Shoppers have plenty of options as they make their way around the 17,000 square foot location from men, women, and kids clothing to house wear, handbags, and more.
The new location will provide 12 new jobs in the local area, not to mention the community impact from the opening of four stores on the Gulf Coast just in the last 60 days. Chief Workforce and Economic Development Officer Kimberly Hall said, “Every time a Goodwill opens in your community that’s net new jobs and so that’s what we’re excited about; it’s helping people get back to work. And when shoppers shop that means dollars go right back into the community to help put people to work, and we do that through our workforce services, so helping people in our community who are looking for work with resume development, interviewing skills, connecting to jobs whether within Goodwill or outside of. So again, we’re thrilled to be here in D’Iberville. This is what it’s all about, is helping people get back to work in our local community.”
They’re open until 6 p.m. today and are located in the Parkway Plaza.
