Delta is making landfall as I write this, and will slowly push inland through the night. South MS won’t have too significant an impact due to the distance from the storm, but will see a few issues.
Winds will remain gusty through the night, averaging around 20 mph.
This has led to both the tropical storm watch and storm surge warning expiring. That doesn’t mean we’re completely in the clear though. A lone thunderstorm yesterday managed to sustain a tornado warning for nearly an hour, and we didn’t even have a severe weather risk. Today’s is “slight,” so the chances of an outer band developing dangerous conditions is higher.
Best idea is to remain “weather aware” through tomorrow morning in case anything unexpected does develop.
Otherwise, the main local issues will remain coastal or marine due to high seas/winds and a little storm surge.
