Despite the rain Saturday, hundreds showed up to the City of Biloxi’s auction to bid on everything from vehicles to video game consoles.
The auction allows the city to legally dispose of surplus and seized assets, as well as giving the general public a chance to get a variety of merchandise for a bargain.
Professional Auctioneer Nick Clark conducted the absolute auction event, meaning all items were sold for the highest price.
Among the items that drew the most attention were a Ford F-250 King Ranch, a 19 foot Boston Whaler, and a Trans Am. Auction Attendee Tim Finch said, “So I’m thinking what I’m looking at, especially when I got here, $1,000 – $1,500, $2,000 tops. And it ended up going for $5,600. People wanted it. So, I’m thinking I’m too cheap with my Trans Am. I should have to go up with the price. But– and everything else seemed to go for a reasonable price. That big truck right there– that big four-wheel drive truck, four-door, it went for $10,500. And that’s probably a $40,000 truck. So that was a good deal for someone.”
All 300 wristbands for the event sold out before 11 a.m. Saturday morning.
