As they say, the show must go on! Although the annual Songwriter’s Festival in Jackson County had to be put off due to COVID concerns, there is some good news on the horizon.
Each year, the host city, Gautier, sets the stage for hundreds of musicians and songwriters for the annual festival. Now, the city is planning for something a little more permanent and plans are underway to make it part of the mixed-use development of Gautier’s old Singing River Mall site. Gautier Major Phil Torjusen said, “We’re going to have the Mississippi Song Writers Alliance put their museum here. We’ll have famous song writers coming into town. That’s a unique draw we’re going to have.”
Design and development of the overall plans for the old mall are underway and once complete, construction of the mixed-use project will begin.
