Pro Football Hall of Fame Cornerback Deion Sanders is finalizing a deal with Jackson State University to become the school’s next head coach according to Sports Illustrated’s Ross Dellenger.
However, this report comes on the back of JSU spokesperson saying Sanders was not a candidate for the school’s head coaching vacancy. Apparently there’s a hang up getting smoothed over with Sanders being under contract with Under Armor and JSU with Nike.
Sanders was most recently the offensive coordinator at his alma mater Trinity Christian High School in Cedar Hill, Texas where his son also plays quarterback.
JSU moved its football season to the spring and is slated to kick off February 19th.
