The Gulf Coast Community Foundation recently established the Hurricane Laura Relief Fund to help the people in need in Louisiana and Texas.
Since the state of Mississippi is familiar with the recovery process caused by a catastrophic hurricane, the foundation is doing what they can to help these neighboring states.
The foundation coordinated with the City of Gulfport to aid in promotional activities and they are also currently contacting donors to contribute to the cause.
After the funds are collected, the foundation will reach out to other community foundations to assess needs in the affected areas. GCCF COO and Executive Director Paul Guichet said, “Setting up this fund is going to help those neighbors in Louisiana and Texas to be able to help them during this difficult time and so we established the Hurricane Laura recovery fund and 100 percent of those funds will go to help the families in need.”
