After nearly three weeks since 30-year-old Brandon Box of Gulfport was killed in a road rage incident on I-10 in Jackson County, the community and his family are still seeking justice.
However, investigators are making progress, releasing new findings about the incident this week. It is believed the suspects were in a small white or silver SUV or hybrid with a Louisiana tag, driven by a black female, a black male in the passenger seat, and multiple people in the back seats.
Box was fatally shot during the incident with a 9MM caliber weapon, but new details find that the suspects also threw a firework mortar into the victim’s truck bed.
Brandon’s wife and Coast Crime Stoppers say someone must have seen something, especially on a busy holiday weekend.
They are now pleading for the public’s help for tips and to continue sharing the information online. Mississippi Coast Crime Stoppers Program Coordinator Lori Massey said, “Criminals do not stay in one area. They move around, especially in a case like this. They’re not exactly sure where these people reside. We are offering up to $2,500 for information that leads to one person or multiple people. These are some dangerous individuals who need to be taken off the street.”
Box was driving a white 2019 Dodge Ram 1500, pulling an enclosed white trailer on I-10 westbound around 4:30 p.m. between mile marker 68 and 51 when he was shot and killed in the road rage incident on Memorial Day.
