06/02 – Brantly’s “Tropical Update” Monday Night Forecast

Overnight lows will be warm with temperatures only dropping down to the upper 60s to lower 70s. Tomorrow, rain chances increase to 70 percent as coverage of storms becomes more widespread. It will be warm and muggy with highs will be in the mid 80s.

In the tropics, we are tracking Tropical Storm Cristobal in the southwestern Gulf of Mexico. Right now, the latest forecast track from the National Hurricane Center shows the storm making a very slow loop, brushing by the southern Mexican Coast before moving north into the central and northern Gulf of Mexico.

Models are in better agreement today of the system approaching the northern Gulf Coast by Sunday evening as a strong tropical storm, but ultimately it is too early to determine where landfall will be. We will continue tracking the system with updates on-air and online.
