The 2020 Conference USA Tournament was supposed to mark its fourth year in Biloxi had it not been for COVID-19.

As it turns out, that would have been its last year at MGM Park as the baseball championship will now move out of Mississippi for the first time since 2013.

On Monday, the league announced the 2021 C-USA Tournament will take place at Louisiana Tech’s Pat Patterson Park which was destroyed by a tornado in April 2019, but is on pace to be ready for next season.

An incredible comeback story in Ruston, thus ending a run of three straight years at the home of the Biloxi Shuckers.

A team representative tells News 25 they would have loved to have hosted the tournament again but ultimately respect the decision made by C-USA.

As it pertains to Southern Miss, the Golden Eagles made good on their home state advantage, advancing to championship Sunday all three years in Biloxi and winning the last two title games.

The 2017 championship game between USM and Rice still holds the record for the largest crowd in tournament history at more than 5,200 fans.
