After a hot weekend on the Gulf Coast, the warm trend continues. High temperatures will be in the lower 90s once again for most of South Mississippi on Monday under mostly sunny skies.

Heading into Tuesday, high temperatures will be in the upper 80s to around 90 degrees as moisture begins flowing into the region out of the southeast. Scattered showers and a few thunderstorms will be possible, mainly in the afternoon. Rain chances are at around 40 percent.

Rain chances increase to 50 to 60 percent on Wednesday as we enter an unsettled weather patterns mid-week. High temperatures will be slightly cooler in the mid 80s.

In the tropics, we are watching the remnants of Tropical Storm Amanda (a system from the Eastern Pacific). The circulation is currently situated over Guatemala and there is a medium chance that it may develop into a new tropical depression or tropical storm as it moves over the Bay of Campeche. It will meander over the southwestern Gulf of Mexico for several days. We will continue to track this throughout the week.
