One fast food chain with locations on the Coast is giving back to first responders in a meaningful way.
The Checkers location in Gulfport has been offering free small combo meals to first responders and medical professionals locally since mid-April.
This initiative is one of many the company is taking on during this time, including donating $100,000 to the ‘No Kid Hungry’ Foundation to help combat childhood hunger.
Checkers Senior District Manager Kristy Phillips says this gesture is all about honoring those on the front lines of COVID-19 especially after those long work days. “It definitely has picked up traction over the last couple weeks and we just want to tell our first responders and our medical professionals thank you.”
