Exciting news revealed this morning in Pascagoula and a testament to the hard work of our healthcare heroes on the Coast.
Singing River Health System is now ranked the head of the class. As Pascagoula and Ocean Springs Hospitals are both nationally recognized and awarded an ‘A’ rating in the Spring 2020 Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade.
Over the course of about six months, the Leapfrog Group analyzes hospital data, including infection rates, mortality, and patient satisfaction scores to determine which hospitals across the country are ‘A’ rated.
Singing River Health System CEO Lee Bond says no words can describe his appreciation for their team, but the letter ‘A’ sure can. “It’s something our quality and infection prevention department has worked very hard on for a long time. We’re super excited about it, to be double-A rated and the only ones in this region other than Garden Park to have that ‘A,’ it’s a really big deal. So, I couldn’t be more excited and more proud of our team. During a pandemic, what a testament to our people to be able to accomplish this in the middle of the largest pandemic in the history of the world. It makes it even bigger.”
The announcement came in a big way, complete with a helicopter entrance and employees decked out in frog gear and green A’s to celebrate.
