MGCCC, Biloxi alum Dillyn Neely commits to Emporia State


One of the best shooters to come out of the Gulf Coast region in recent memory is heading to the four year level.

Following his sophomore season at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College, Biloxi alum Dillyn Neely is now committed to Emporia State in Kansas, a Division II program.

As a freshman at MGCCC, Neely once made ten three pointers in a single game, breaking the all-time record up at Perk.

As a sophomore, he was one of just two players to average more than 10 points per game and led the team in three-pointers made by a considerable margin.

A native of Pass Christian and a St. Stanislaus alum, Jeff Haeger comes to News 25 from right in our backyard. He most recently spent more than three years working as the sports reporter for WHLT-TV in Hattiesburg, where he provided extensive coverage of his alma mater, The University of Southern Mississippi. At Southern Miss, Jeff was a member of the Honors College and graduated with a B.A. degree in Broadcast Journalism with a minor in Spanish. He also wrote for USM's award-winning school newspaper, The Student Printz, where he won first place for Best Sports Story in 2013.
