Now more than ever it is important to be a good neighbor.
Health officials are asking that you stay home and avoid contact with others unless you absolutely need to go out to places like the grocery store.
For older Americans who have a higher risk of dying from COVID-19, even going out to the store can be a stressful task. That’s why Susan Russell from Singing River Health System says it is vital to lend a helping hand to those who might be in need during this time. “At the end of the day, supporting each other emotionally is huge. It makes a big difference because I know everyone is worried. Everyone has a high stress level. So things that can just make people laugh right now. I want to make sure that everyone remembers our seniors, who are at the greatest risk, making sure they are taken care of, drop a meal off to them, do some grocery shopping for them. Those kinds of things would be hugely beneficial right now.”
