One of the Coast’s largest parades rolled through Downtown Biloxi Saturday night among thousands of revelers.
The Krewe of Neptune’s annual parade brought folks from across the Coast and the country together for a unique night parade atmosphere.
The Ying Yang Twins got the crowd crunk as the grand marshals and nearly 70 units consisting of themed floats and marching bands made their way past city hall and down through Caillavet Street.
Both city officials and visitors say Neptune is the highlight of Biloxi’s unique association with Mardi Gras. Mayor FoFo Gilich said, “You know, it started in Mobile and New Orleans, but we’ve certainly been celebrating it, you know, hundreds of years.”
Lee and Debbie Myers visited Biloxi from Wisconsin. “Oh it’s been tremendous. Plus, the food is excellent.” “Very polite, we’ve met a lot of polite people. It’s very nice.”
Following the parade the krewe held its ‘Neptunalia Parade After Party’ at the Hard Rock with performances by the Ying Yang Twins and Mannie Fresh.
