The kids reigned over Biloxi Saturday morning during a parade made just for them.
Families and groups decorated their wagons and put on their best carnival costumes for the annual Biloxi Children’s Walking Parade.
Parade-goers lined Howard Avenue and Lameuse Street as the kids threw colorful throws on their way to Biloxi City Hall.
This year’s theme was ‘Carnival Du Cirque,’ celebrating all the people and animals that make up the circus. Biloxi Mayor FoFo Gilich said, “It’s always a great occasion. All these kids coming in and really, they may not be able to ride on the float during the real Mardi Gras, but this is their deal. So, we’re real pleased to, you know, kick it off and move it towards Mardi Gras Tuesday.”
Parade participants were also treated to a Mardi Gras festival and costume contest at City Hall following the parade.
