This morning at the Knight Nonprofit Center the Mississippi Development Authority gave an update on how MDA has an effect on our local economy.
Jamie Miller, the MDA chief innovation officer, was the speaker of this event. He touched on the Gulf Coast Restoration Funds, trading percentages on the Coast, upcoming projects and more.
Miller also mentioned the vision he has for the new year with the growth that was seen in 2019 at the forefront which included more than $1.14 billion private capital investment and over 6,000 jobs statewide. “The pipeline is full. I mean, all of the successes that were in 2019 we’re building on and that’s the posture that we should all have. We should take the stance in being assertive in growing our economy through business expansions, recruitment, but also everything that is going on around the Coast is really setting the stage for what I hope the community will rally around and build on into the future.”
Lt. Governor Delbert Hosemann is in the works of possibly moving tourism out of MDA and into its own sector.
