Vaping has become a deadly epidemic for young people in the United States which is why one non-profit travels the country to spread awareness about this issue.
Today, Long Beach High School and middle school students had the chance to listen to a presentation from the number one booked school presenter in the country.
The presentation is called ‘vaping me crazy’ and the goal is to help educate kids and their parents on drug abuse with the hopes of preventing people under the age of 21 from getting addicted to drugs or alcohol. Steered Straight CEO Michael Deleon said, “It’s the number one public health crisis facing our country right now and our kids are being caught up into it. We’re priming the brains of adolescence for addiction and we are really creating the next generation of addicts.”
There will be a parent and community event tonight from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Long Beach Middle School.
Anyone is welcome to attend.
