Harrison County officials elected during the 2019 election took their oath of office today at a swearing in ceremony.
Many with family behind them for support said the words and promised to be faithful to their new positions “so help them God.”
It was a packed house as dozens of officials were sworn in including multiple judges, Sheriff Troy Peterson and Circuit Clerk Connie Ladner.
There were some fresh faces like Paula Ladner, the new tax assessor. She has served in the same office for over 30 years and says she is ready for the position. “This is like the beginning of a new chapter in my life. I’ve been working hard for this. I have been training under three predecessors and I am excited to start this new career and to serve the people well. As always our doors are always open and we are here to serve.”
